Summer Disc Golf Camp
Learn to play Disc Golf, one of the nation’s fastest growing sports. Players of all skill levels and experience will benefit from this camp as they learn the fundamentals and rules of the game through a variety of drills, team and individual competitions, and fun games. At the newly designed Tower Ridge Disc Golf Course, players will have access to the course and equipment. Each player will also receive their own beginner friendly disc that they will use throughout the week. Throughout the week, players will learn the proper mechanics of a disc golf throw, the different types of throws, and the rules and proper etiquette in order to play. They will also learn about strategy, mindset, and the keys to developing confidence on the course.
Each day will be broken down into a morning and afternoon session. During the morning sessions, players will engage in instruction of a specific skill, followed by different games and activities to reinforce what they’ve learned. Players will learn the different types of throws that can be used to shape shots, useful skills such as scrambling, and how to putt. There will be focus on exercises that reinforce the mechanics of the throw and support overall fitness. During the afternoon session, players will take their skills out onto the course and play a variety of formats, including singles, doubles, alternate-shot, and team best shot. They will learn the proper rules, including how to keep score, and etiquette needed to play while out on the course. As camp comes to an end, players will leave with the skill set to go to any course and play and will have a core set of knowledge from which to build on in the future.
