This guitar led sing-along class consists of music and activities that keep everybody moving.  Have fun playing instruments, jumping to the rhythms and learning some musical games. This class gets the kids dancing and helps them burn off some energy for nap time.• Have fun playing instruments and learning musical activities and games.• Learn to enjoy playing with other toddlers! 8/11/2020 UPDATE: Classes will be held outdoors at Mills Pond Park- stage area (the first field on the right hand side when you first pull into Mills Pond Park). Parents may be asked to participate in portions of the activity. Masks will not be required while social distance is maintained. All participants are asked to come with a mask for check-in and other instances if needed. 
 
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM    Every Body’s Exercise Class - Every Body's Exercise October
UPDATE: This class will be held on Wednesdays, 1-2pm starting 10/7-10/28. Every Body's Exercise Class will be held OUTDOORS at Mills Pond Park- under the Pavilions. Participants will be asked to wear a mask upon arriving and leaving the area. Once participants are in the assigned area (6 feet apart) they may remove their masks.Stretch, tone, and flex your way to a healthier you. Mary is a fun loving instructor, telling jokes and wearing crazy costumes- making exercise seem effortless yet so fun. If you think you would like to get out and join a fun loving bunch for some Senior exercise, this is your class! Come and give it a try- you will be hooked on Mary and the class!

This dance program is designed for all skill levels. No experience needed! Dance is a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you and have fun, to meet new friends, and make and succeed your goals.  Students will be learning a variety of dance routinesAll children in the Combo or Intro Class must be toilet trained. Instructor: Alyssa Laigle, Dance Instructor and Fitness Trainer.Hybrid: Dance will be held at Mills Pond Park - outdoors. If there is inclement weather and the class cannot be held in-person, then the class will be held via Zoom. Please bring a water bottle that is clearly labeled for each child and a towel or yoga mat. Covid Protocols (Please review full safety guidelines in forms below)Participants will be asked upon arrival if they have any of the following symptoms before engaging in the program:  Participants will hand sanitize before the start of class Participants will need to wear a mask while they get out of their vehicle, and until they are 6 feet apart during class. 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM    Tiny Tots Club - Pop Ups! (Ages 2-5) - Fall Festival
Check out what's happening at the Tiny Tots Clubhouse! This play-based program will introduce a new theme each week. Tots and their guardian will explore new worlds and create crafts to take home. Class will include a portion for movement to get those wiggles out and a themed art activity. If you register for 5 or more activities in session 2's pop up events, you will receive a $10 discount for your 6th class. To register for your 6th class, you will need to call the Parks and Recreation Office at: 860-693-5808. If class is cancelled due to weather, guardians can pick up the craft kits from the Parks and Rec Department. A 50% credit will be refunded to the household account. No full refunds will be given. Session 1 of Pop Up Events: Week 1: Under the Sea! (10/8/20) - Register by 10/01Ready, set, go to our clubhouse beach party! Participants will learn about different types of animals that live in the ocean and dance to some classic beach themed tunes. Our Tiny Tots members will get to create their very own sea creature to take home with them. Week 2: Safari Adventure! (10/15/20) - Register by 10/09Lions, tigers and...monkeys! The clubhouse has been taken over by our jungle friends. Participants will learn about different types of animals that live in the jungle and will go through a "boot camp" (obstacle course) to become a safari ranger. Our rangers will get to take home part of the jungle by creating some fun crafts!Week 3: Fall Festival! (10/22/20) - Register by 10/16Fall is in the air! Participants will be crowned princes and princesses of Mills Pond Park and will explore the park to find the perfect leaves. But first, our royal members must make their own fall crowns! Participants will use the leaves they find to create beautiful fall crafts. Week 4: Monster Mash! (10/29/20) - Register by 10/23Come to the haunted clubhouse for some Halloween fun! Participants will weave their way through spider webs, over pumpkins and around cauldrons (obstacle course) before getting to create their own mystery box to find out what objects are inside. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes! Session 2 of Pop Up Events: Week 1: The Five Senses (11/5/20) - Register by 10/30Dive into a world full discovery as our clubhouse members explore each one of their senses through movement, creation and crafts. Our Tiny Tots Members will each take home a musical instrument that they can enjoy well after class is over!  Week 2: Down on the Farm (11/10/20) - Register by 11/2 Get your working boots on for a day at the farm where Tiny tots will learn about farm animals and some crops. Our Tiny Tots will take home surprise farm animal crafts. Week 3: The Pumpkin Patch! (11/17/20) - Register by 11/10 Tiny Tots will get to explore the wonders of fall and pumpkins! The pumpkin patch will feature sensory bins, and field activities. Members will get to take home fall crafts. Week 4: Dinosaur Discovery! (12/1/20) - Register by 11/23Dinosaur footprints have been discovered right here in Canton- Join us to discover where they came from! Tiny Tots will get to act like dinosaurs and make their own dino footprints to take home. Week 5: Blast off to Space! (12/8/20) - Register by 12/1 3..2..1.. Blast Off to Space with the Tiny Tots Club! Tiny Tots members will get to explore planets, stars and go on a space mission. Participants will get to take home their discoveries from their mission. Week 6: Fantasy and Fairy Tales! (12/10/20) - Register by 12/3 Dragons, fairies and wizards are visiting Canton! Come explore legends and tales of mythical creatures in the Tiny Tots Clubhouse. Members will get to take home magical treasures!Week 7: Winter Wonderland! (12/15/20) - Register by 12/8 Do you want to build a snowman? Snow or not, tiny tots will get to make a snowman in the clubhouse to take home. Tiny tots will also get their wiggles out with a snow plow race and mitten hunt!Week 8: Reindeer and Jingle Bells! (12/17/20) - Register by 12/10Can you hear the sleigh bells yet? You will in the Tiny Tots Club this week. Tiny Tots will get to make a little magic of their own with bells. Members will get to make their own reindeer to take home!
 
4:30 PM - 5:10 PM    NEW! Intro to Hoops - Intro to Hoops: Thursdays
NEW! Learn the basics of basketball in this skills based clinic. Each 40 minute session will be jam packed with fun basketball drills that focus on the fundamentals. Dribbling, defensive stance, shooting, passing will all be covered during the program.  The Parks & Rec Department has basketball balls available, but players are asked to bring a basketball if they one. Size 27.5" recommended. Players will focus on form of shooting since hoops are regulation height and unable to be adjusted. Please review all Covid-19 protocols prior to registering.

Youth ages 3-5 years will be introduced to the sport of basketball in a friendly, safe and fun environment. Kids will learn skills and techniques through a variety of activities and games. A parent or guardian will be needed on site to assist with drills and games. Mini basketballs will be available for each participant. Program will be skills based and socially distanced. This one-hour class includes warm-up, resistance training, cardio, balance and cool-down/stretch segments using a chair for seated or standing movements. Light weights, stretch bands or a hand towel, and light balls are used. You may bring your own tools or we can provide them. Please bring water!NEW! Hybrid Class - Join Kathi at Mills Pond Park under the pavilion for Senior Chair Workout.If there is inclement weather, the class will be held via Zoom. Don't worry if Zoom isn't for you, there is a drop in option for the in-person class only. For drop-in, participants must call ahead to reserve their spot - 860-693-5808. There are two options to join: 1. Drop in rate: Pay as you go - $5/session. Attend the in-person class only. When you go to class just pay the $5 rate with exact cash or check. 2. Hybrid Class $15/session: Pay for the entire session and attend all in-person classes. 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM    Tiny Tots Club - Pop Ups! (Ages 2-5) - The Five Senses!
Check out what's happening at the Tiny Tots Clubhouse! This play-based program will introduce a new theme each week. Tots and their guardian will explore new worlds and create crafts to take home. Class will include a portion for movement to get those wiggles out and a themed art activity. If you register for 5 or more activities in session 2's pop up events, you will receive a $10 discount for your 6th class. To register for your 6th class, you will need to call the Parks and Recreation Office at: 860-693-5808. If class is cancelled due to weather, guardians can pick up the craft kits from the Parks and Rec Department. A 50% credit will be refunded to the household account. No full refunds will be given. Session 1 of Pop Up Events: Week 1: Under the Sea! (10/8/20) - Register by 10/01Ready, set, go to our clubhouse beach party! Participants will learn about different types of animals that live in the ocean and dance to some classic beach themed tunes. Our Tiny Tots members will get to create their very own sea creature to take home with them. Week 2: Safari Adventure! (10/15/20) - Register by 10/09Lions, tigers and...monkeys! The clubhouse has been taken over by our jungle friends. Participants will learn about different types of animals that live in the jungle and will go through a "boot camp" (obstacle course) to become a safari ranger. Our rangers will get to take home part of the jungle by creating some fun crafts!Week 3: Fall Festival! (10/22/20) - Register by 10/16Fall is in the air! Participants will be crowned princes and princesses of Mills Pond Park and will explore the park to find the perfect leaves. But first, our royal members must make their own fall crowns! Participants will use the leaves they find to create beautiful fall crafts. Week 4: Monster Mash! (10/29/20) - Register by 10/23Come to the haunted clubhouse for some Halloween fun! Participants will weave their way through spider webs, over pumpkins and around cauldrons (obstacle course) before getting to create their own mystery box to find out what objects are inside. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes! Session 2 of Pop Up Events: Week 1: The Five Senses (11/5/20) - Register by 10/30Dive into a world full discovery as our clubhouse members explore each one of their senses through movement, creation and crafts. Our Tiny Tots Members will each take home a musical instrument that they can enjoy well after class is over!  Week 2: Down on the Farm (11/10/20) - Register by 11/2 Get your working boots on for a day at the farm where Tiny tots will learn about farm animals and some crops. Our Tiny Tots will take home surprise farm animal crafts. Week 3: The Pumpkin Patch! (11/17/20) - Register by 11/10 Tiny Tots will get to explore the wonders of fall and pumpkins! The pumpkin patch will feature sensory bins, and field activities. Members will get to take home fall crafts. Week 4: Dinosaur Discovery! (12/1/20) - Register by 11/23Dinosaur footprints have been discovered right here in Canton- Join us to discover where they came from! Tiny Tots will get to act like dinosaurs and make their own dino footprints to take home. Week 5: Blast off to Space! (12/8/20) - Register by 12/1 3..2..1.. Blast Off to Space with the Tiny Tots Club! Tiny Tots members will get to explore planets, stars and go on a space mission. Participants will get to take home their discoveries from their mission. Week 6: Fantasy and Fairy Tales! (12/10/20) - Register by 12/3 Dragons, fairies and wizards are visiting Canton! Come explore legends and tales of mythical creatures in the Tiny Tots Clubhouse. Members will get to take home magical treasures!Week 7: Winter Wonderland! (12/15/20) - Register by 12/8 Do you want to build a snowman? Snow or not, tiny tots will get to make a snowman in the clubhouse to take home. Tiny tots will also get their wiggles out with a snow plow race and mitten hunt!Week 8: Reindeer and Jingle Bells! (12/17/20) - Register by 12/10Can you hear the sleigh bells yet? You will in the Tiny Tots Club this week. Tiny Tots will get to make a little magic of their own with bells. Members will get to make their own reindeer to take home!

Youth ages 3-5 years will be introduced to the sport of basketball in a friendly, safe and fun environment. Kids will learn skills and techniques through a variety of activities and games. A parent or guardian will be needed on site to assist with drills and games. Mini basketballs will be available for each participant. Program will be skills based and socially distanced. Please review safety protocol prior to registering. LOCATION CHANGE: Program will now be at Mills Pond Park.

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM    Music with Miss Jean (Ages 18 months - 3 years) - Music with Ms. Jean - Fall Session 2
This guitar led sing-along class consists of music and activities that keep everybody moving.  Have fun playing instruments, jumping to the rhythms and learning some musical games. This class gets the kids dancing and helps them burn off some energy for nap time.• Have fun playing instruments and learning musical activities and games.• Learn to enjoy playing with other toddlers! 8/11/2020 UPDATE: Classes will be held outdoors at Mills Pond Park- stage area (the first field on the right hand side when you first pull into Mills Pond Park). Parents may be asked to participate in portions of the activity. Masks will not be required while social distance is maintained. All participants are asked to come with a mask for check-in and other instances if needed. 
 
4:30 PM - 5:05 PM    Hybrid: Next Generation of Dance! (Ages 3-11) - Intro to Dance
This dance program is designed for all skill levels. No experience needed! Dance is a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you and have fun, to meet new friends, and make and succeed your goals.  Students will be learning a variety of dance routinesAll children in the Combo or Intro Class must be toilet trained. Instructor: Alyssa Laigle, Dance Instructor and Fitness Trainer.Hybrid: Dance will be held at Mills Pond Park - outdoors. If there is inclement weather and the class cannot be held in-person, then the class will be held via Zoom. Please bring a water bottle that is clearly labeled for each child and a towel or yoga mat. Covid Protocols (Please review full safety guidelines in forms below)Participants will be asked upon arrival if they have any of the following symptoms before engaging in the program:  Participants will hand sanitize before the start of class Participants will need to wear a mask while they get out of their vehicle, and until they are 6 feet apart during class. We ask that parents remain in vehicles during class Attendance will be taken every class to ensure proper contact tracing if necessary
