Not to mentions it’s a social activity that can be fun, improve your mood, help you sleep better, address certain health conditions and weight control. From the calm, slow practice of Tai Chi, to modified Chair Pilates or the smooth groovin’ of Mind Body Boost, there is something to keep you moving four days a week at the Senior Center! All classes offered operate on a rolling basis, so come when you can – start when you can. It is not required that you start at the beginning of each new session.**Fitness Class Scholarships**                             We are pleased to offer limited monthly scholarships to our fitness classes for qualified individuals. If you have been wanting to exercise but cost is prohibitive, we welcome you to apply. Stop by the Senior and Social Services office to obtain and submit an application. Canton residents who already receive other state and federal assistance through SNAP, Renter's Rebate, Energy Assistance, SSDI and SSI are encouraged to apply. **Must be a Canton resident**TAI CHI MONDAYS @10 AM WEDNESDAYS @ 10 AMTai Chi is an ancient Chinese movement practice that focuses on muscle control, stability, balance, and flexibility using gentle movements. Practiced regularly, it can help reduce pain, especially from knee osteoarthritis, back problems, and fibromyalgia -- among many other health challenges. Join Tai Chi Joe and start to enjoy the benefits of an alternative exercise that’s easier on the joints.Drop-ins $7/class payable at the time of the class or monthly packages $5/class payable online. Please review all the information below prior to registering. Thank you! This dance and gymnastics program is designed for all skill levels. Dance is such a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you, be silly, meet new friends and have fun!! Students will be learning a variety of dance routines during Hip Hop and will be learning lots of awesome and fun gymnastics skills. This program is a great way to keep up your skills and learn new ones. Sign up today! Please review all information below prior to registering. Program Descriptions:Classes from both age groups will combine into 1 session beginning in February; see registration dates and times below.Hip-Hop/Gymnastics (7-11 years old): - Session I & II are 8-week classes and there is no commitment to the recital at the end of the year. Please note, if you would like to continue into the recital sessions the costume must be ordered by December 1. - The Recital Preparation Sessions begins in late January; participants will work on skills and choreography to be presented at the final recital. Participants who are registered for this session are automatically included in the recital. Instructor will provide additional information on recital costume (additional fee). This program is only for students who have participated in at least session II of Next Gen. Combo (4-6 years old):All sessions are 8/9 weeks long . Children participating in the combo class are no required to participate in the recital, but will have the option to take part in the recital if interested. Ms. Aly will discuss the recital options during the session with parents. If your child plans on participating in the recital, please note there is an additional costume fee, which the instructor will also coordinate with you you (costumes for recital must be purchase by December 1).   General Program information- Students should wear dance/gymnastic attire, bare feet & a ponytail - Both age groups' classes are gymnastics and hip-hop only. - Students need to have their hair pulled back and out of their face. - Please bring a water bottle and use the restroom prior to the start of class. All children in the combo class will need to be potty trained prior to attending.- Parents/guardians may drop their child off at the class with the instructor, but must stay outside of the room during the class. -Parents if your child won't be in class, please let Miss Aly know VIA text-Parents, Miss Aly has other classes she needs to get to after your child's class, so please be on time for pick up.Class schedule subject to change. Session II: No class 11/27, 12/25, 1/01Combo Session IV/Recital Session: No class 4/23 or 5/7Instructor: Alyssa Fabiaschi, Dance Instructor and Fitness Trainer.

YogaCHI is for all levels and everyone is encouraged to try it out! In this gentle but energizing class we will intelligently combine disciplines of Yoga, Pilates and CHI-Gong. The emphasis will be on exercises to deepen the breath, strengthen the muscles of the "core" as well as upper body, arms and legs combined with deep stretching and ending with therapeutic relaxation techniques. The class is designed to bring energy and balance into the body, mind and spirit, cultivate health, vitality and longevity. Yes, this is for everyone!

Each class varies slightly, but each works all major and some minor muscle groups. Please review all the information below prior to registering. Thank you! This dance and gymnastics program is designed for all skill levels. Dance is such a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you, be silly, meet new friends and have fun!! Students will be learning a variety of dance routines during Hip Hop and will be learning lots of awesome and fun gymnastics skills. This program is a great way to keep up your skills and learn new ones. Sign up today! Please review all information below prior to registering. Program Descriptions:Classes from both age groups will combine into 1 session beginning in February; see registration dates and times below.Hip-Hop/Gymnastics (7-11 years old): - Session I & II are 8-week classes and there is no commitment to the recital at the end of the year. Please note, if you would like to continue into the recital sessions the costume must be ordered by December 1. - The Recital Preparation Sessions begins in late January; participants will work on skills and choreography to be presented at the final recital. Participants who are registered for this session are automatically included in the recital. Instructor will provide additional information on recital costume (additional fee). This program is only for students who have participated in at least session II of Next Gen. Combo (4-6 years old):All sessions are 8/9 weeks long . Children participating in the combo class are no required to participate in the recital, but will have the option to take part in the recital if interested. Ms. Aly will discuss the recital options during the session with parents. If your child plans on participating in the recital, please note there is an additional costume fee, which the instructor will also coordinate with you you (costumes for recital must be purchase by December 1).   General Program information- Students should wear dance/gymnastic attire, bare feet & a ponytail - Both age groups' classes are gymnastics and hip-hop only. - Students need to have their hair pulled back and out of their face. - Please bring a water bottle and use the restroom prior to the start of class. Fitness MatrixThis fun beginner-to-intermediate class provides a full-body workout using multiple fitness modalities: resistance training, cardio, balance, and stretching using resistance bands, light weights, steps, POUND Ripstix®, occasional dance fitness moves, and chairs for optional standing support. Each class varies slightly, but each works all major and some minor muscle groups. Welcome to Music with Miss Jean!This guitar led sing-along class consists of music and activities that keep everybody moving. Have fun playing instruments, jumping to the rhythms and learning some musical games. This class gets the kids dancing and helps them burn off some energy for nap time. All classes offered operate on a rolling basis, so come when you can – start when you can. Please review all the information below prior to registering. Thank you! This dance and gymnastics program is designed for all skill levels. Dance is such a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you, be silly, meet new friends and have fun!! Students will be learning a variety of dance routines during Hip Hop and will be learning lots of awesome and fun gymnastics skills. This program is a great way to keep up your skills and learn new ones. Sign up today! Please review all information below prior to registering. Program Descriptions:Classes from both age groups will combine into 1 session beginning in February; see registration dates and times below.Hip-Hop/Gymnastics (7-11 years old): - Session I & II are 8-week classes and there is no commitment to the recital at the end of the year. Please note, if you would like to continue into the recital sessions the costume must be ordered by December 1. - The Recital Preparation Sessions begins in late January; participants will work on skills and choreography to be presented at the final recital. Participants who are registered for this session are automatically included in the recital. Instructor will provide additional information on recital costume (additional fee). This program is only for students who have participated in at least session II of Next Gen. Combo (4-6 years old):All sessions are 8/9 weeks long . Children participating in the combo class are no required to participate in the recital, but will have the option to take part in the recital if interested. Ms. Aly will discuss the recital options during the session with parents. If your child plans on participating in the recital, please note there is an additional costume fee, which the instructor will also coordinate with you you (costumes for recital must be purchase by December 1).   General Program information- Students should wear dance/gymnastic attire, bare feet & a ponytail - Both age groups' classes are gymnastics and hip-hop only. - Students need to have their hair pulled back and out of their face. - Please bring a water bottle and use the restroom prior to the start of class. YogaCHI is for all levels and everyone is encouraged to try it out! In this gentle but energizing class we will intelligently combine disciplines of Yoga, Pilates and CHI-Gong. The advantage of dance and movement programs like ballet, modern and jazz is that you are able to go at your own pace. Bonnie takes value in using a chair so that participants can stop and rest while continuing with their arm movements. Focus will be on body alignment, natural movements, building strength and increasing balance and stability. Please review all the information below prior to registering. Thank you! This dance and gymnastics program is designed for all skill levels. Dance is such a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you, be silly, meet new friends and have fun!! Students will be learning a variety of dance routines during Hip Hop and will be learning lots of awesome and fun gymnastics skills. This program is a great way to keep up your skills and learn new ones. Sign up today! Please review all information below prior to registering. Program Descriptions:Classes from both age groups will combine into 1 session beginning in February; see registration dates and times below.Hip-Hop/Gymnastics (7-11 years old): - Session I & II are 8-week classes and there is no commitment to the recital at the end of the year. Please note, if you would like to continue into the recital sessions the costume must be ordered by December 1. - The Recital Preparation Sessions begins in late January; participants will work on skills and choreography to be presented at the final recital. Participants who are registered for this session are automatically included in the recital. Instructor will provide additional information on recital costume (additional fee). This program is only for students who have participated in at least session II of Next Gen. Combo (4-6 years old):All sessions are 8/9 weeks long . Children participating in the combo class are no required to participate in the recital, but will have the option to take part in the recital if interested. Ms. Aly will discuss the recital options during the session with parents. If your child plans on participating in the recital, please note there is an additional costume fee, which the instructor will also coordinate with you you (costumes for recital must be purchase by December 1).   General Program information- Students should wear dance/gymnastic attire, bare feet & a ponytail - Both age groups' classes are gymnastics and hip-hop only. - Students need to have their hair pulled back and out of their face. - Please bring a water bottle and use the restroom prior to the start of class. Fitness MatrixThis fun beginner-to-intermediate class provides a full-body workout using multiple fitness modalities: resistance training, cardio, balance, and stretching using resistance bands, light weights, steps, POUND Ripstix®, occasional dance fitness moves, and chairs for optional standing support. Each class varies slightly, but each works all major and some minor muscle groups. Bring your own tools or we can provide them. Instructor Kathi Boratko is an Athletics and Fitness Association of America™ (AFAA) certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor and owner of FITMiX with Kathi.

Welcome to Music with Miss Jean!This guitar led sing-along class consists of music and activities that keep everybody moving. Have fun playing instruments, jumping to the rhythms and learning some musical games. This class gets the kids dancing and helps them burn off some energy for nap time. Ballet, Modern & Jazz for Adults & Seniorswith Bonnie FlatteryDance is a fun way to exercise! It's all about movement and enjoying rhythm while dancing to music using techniques. The advantage of dance and movement programs like ballet, modern and jazz is that you are able to go at your own pace. Bonnie takes value in using a chair so that participants can stop and rest while continuing with their arm movements. Focus will be on body alignment, natural movements, building strength and increasing balance and stability. Please review all the information below prior to registering. Thank you! This dance and gymnastics program is designed for all skill levels. Dance is such a fun environment to be in. It's a place to be you, be silly, meet new friends and have fun!! Students will be learning a variety of dance routines during Hip Hop and will be learning lots of awesome and fun gymnastics skills. This program is a great way to keep up your skills and learn new ones. Sign up today! Please review all information below prior to registering. Program Descriptions:Classes from both age groups will combine into 1 session beginning in February; see registration dates and times below.Hip-Hop/Gymnastics (7-11 years old): - Session I & II are 8-week classes and there is no commitment to the recital at the end of the year. Please note, if you would like to continue into the recital sessions the costume must be ordered by December 1. - The Recital Preparation Sessions begins in late January; participants will work on skills and choreography to be presented at the final recital. Participants who are registered for this session are automatically included in the recital. Instructor will provide additional information on recital costume (additional fee). This program is only for students who have participated in at least session II of Next Gen. Combo (4-6 years old):All sessions are 8/9 weeks long . Children participating in the combo class are no required to participate in the recital, but will have the option to take part in the recital if interested. Ms. Aly will discuss the recital options during the session with parents. If your child plans on participating in the recital, please note there is an additional costume fee, which the instructor will also coordinate with you you (costumes for recital must be purchase by December 1).   General Program information- Students should wear dance/gymnastic attire, bare feet & a ponytail - Both age groups' classes are gymnastics and hip-hop only. - Students need to have their hair pulled back and out of their face. - Please bring a water bottle and use the restroom prior to the start of class. All children in the combo class will need to be potty trained prior to attending.- Parents/guardians may drop their child off at the class with the instructor, but must stay outside of the room during the class. -Parents if your child won't be in class, please let Miss Aly know VIA text-Parents, Miss Aly has other classes she needs to get to after your child's class, so please be on time for pick up.Class schedule subject to change. Session II: No class 11/27, 12/25, 1/01Combo Session IV/Recital Session: No class 4/23 or 5/7Instructor: Alyssa Fabiaschi, Dance Instructor and Fitness Trainer.
