Skyhawks: Basketball Clinic Grades K/1 Registration starts August 21, 2025.Please review information below - 3:40pm program includes dismissal from classroom to gym. The 4:30pm program is drop-off. This recreation basketball clinic offers children grades K-1 to get their first experience with basketball. This program is introductory in nature where participants will learn the game of basketball through engaging drills and small-sided games. Our coaches will focus on developing the basics and fostering a love of the game. Using our progression-based curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Participants will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense through skill-based instruction and small-sided scrimmages.Spots are limited, register today! Program details: - Equipment: Basketballs will be provided. Players should bring their water and wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. - The 3:40-4:25pm session: Children will be dismissed from their classrooms to the gym afterschool. The 4:30pm program is drop-off. This recreation basketball clinic offers children grades K-1 to get their first experience with basketball. This program is introductory in nature where participants will learn the game of basketball through engaging drills and small-sided games. Our coaches will focus on developing the basics and fostering a love of the game. Using our progression-based curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Some minimal travel within the Farmington Valley is required. Games will be held in Canton, Avon, Burlington, Harwinton and Farmington on Saturdays. The program runs December-February (exact dates TBA) and fees include a uniform t-shirt.The league is recreational in nature where player development is the number one priority, not winning and losing.Regular Fee*: $155 (deadline: 10/10) Late Fee (after 10/11-10/25): $170 (deadline: 10/24 - please note, team space will be limited - no guarantee of a spot on a team) After the 10/24 deadline, no additional admissions will be taken for any of the teams. *League registration is on a rolling basis.
