A full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using lightly weighted drumsticks engineered for exercising, Pound transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Designed for all fitness levels! Easily modifiable, Pound provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin' out!  Participants need to bring a mat and water bottle; pound sticks are provided by the instructor.

All materials provided, no experience needed. Meet the Instructor!Barbara is the maker and instructor of Canton Soap Works with over 10 years of experience in making skincare products without using harmful chemicals. Her soap making career started when her daughter had an allergic reaction when using commercial soap. She began doing skincare research and discovered that most commercial soaps were made with detergents. These can cause skin irritations. Barbara decided to learn how to make plant-based soaps for her family and friends instead of using commercial soaps. Now, she shares this information in her classes!

Welcome to Garden Lectureswith Rosemary AldridgeGrowing Small FruitsTuesday, June 16th 10:00am-11:30amMany delicious and nutritious fruits are easy to grow in your own backyard.  Topics will include strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, and currants.  We will also talk about some unusual native plants such as elderberries. We will compare soil and sun requirements, watering and fertilizing, and pest control and other horticultural requirements.Organic Gardening TechniquesTuesday, July 7th 10:00am-11:30amWhat exactly is Organic Gardening? The term has different meanings to different people. In this class, you will learn methods to enhance and protect your soil; to encourage beneficial insects, pollinators, birds, and other critters; to minimize harmful pests and diseases; and to understand the basics of composting.  Bring your questions and gardening challenges, and we’ll try to find some easy solutions!Meet the InstructorRosemary Aldridge has been gardening since she was a child growing up in Wethersfield, CT.  She received her B.S. from Cornell University in Landscape Architecture, and practiced as a licensed Landscape Architect for over 25 years.  Now specializing in residential Landscape Design and Horticulture, she lectures in gardening and is also an adjunct professor teaching Site Planning at the University of Hartford in the Masters of Architecture program. She is fascinated by the traditional arts and crafts and has a small business making candles and all-vegetable, natural soap.  She also teaches cheesemaking and maple sugaring at locations throughout Connecticut.
