Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Canton Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel programs for insufficient enrollment numbers. In the event we cancel a program, you will receive a full refund.

2. All programs & activities will follow Canton Public Schools weather cancellations and holiday schedules (unless otherwise noted).
     - School Delays: All programs scheduled during a delayed opening will be cancelled (between 7:30-10:30am). Programs scheduled after the delay will be held as scheduled (any programs starting on or after 10:30am) unless otherwise notified.

3. Refunds may be issued if you request a program cancellation a minimum of 1 week prior to it beginning (excluding bus trips which are non-refundable). A $10 cancellation fee will be deducted from each program being cancelled. Refunds requested less than a week before a program beginning are not guaranteed, and will be assessed on a case by case basis.

4. Refunds will NOT be issued after a program has already started.

5. Refunds may be issued in the following ways:
~ An account credit can be placed on your Parks and Recreation account. Account credits may be applied to any future program, activity or membership. Credits never expire.
~ Depending on when a transaction was made, we may be able to refund the credit card used for payment.
~ A check can be mailed to your house. Please all 3-4 weeks for processing.
6. Medical Refunds: A refund (full or prorated) will be issued at anytime prior-to or during a program if a person is no longer able to participate due to a medical reason. Medical documentation will be required (e.g. doctor's note).

Cancellation & Location Change Notifications
All communication for canceled programs or location changes will be posted on CantonRec.org as an alert (red banner on top of homepage).

The Canton Parks & Recreation Department makes every effort to have clear communication with all participants and will send email notifications in most instances in addition to posting the alert. Please make sure an updated email address is included on your CantonRec.org household account and activated to receive emails about cancellations. If you need assistance updating your account, please call 860-693-5808.

There may be instances where emails go to spam or junk; therefore all participants are encouraged to check CantonRec.org before leaving for a program.
