The students entering grades 5-8 will collaborate with each other and strengthen friendships through participation in small and large group classes and ensembles, as well as fun afternoon electives. New this year, we will add an Afternoon Jazz Academy option for students entering 7th and 8th grade. The faculty and students will participate in daily performances for an audience of their peers and a culminating performance for families. Additional guest artist performances will thrill the young musicians. The Canton Summer Arts Camp (CSAC) Bandfest! will be held daily from 8 am to 3 pm during the week of June 22-26, 2026 at Canton High School, 76 Simonds Ave, Canton, CT. The camp is designed for students with one to four years experience on a band instrument (flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion) that are entering grades 5-8. Registration will be available online through the Canton Parks and Recreation Department.What To Bring!Students should plan to bring their working band instrument in a case labeled with their name, as well as any necessary supplies (reeds, oils, etc.). Percussionists would only need to bring their stick bag with drum sticks and mallets all labeled with their name, we will use the school percussion equipment. Skyhawks Track & Field was developed to introduce young athletes to this sport; rich in tradition and history. These programs combine technical development and fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, our exercises and drills will prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track and field events, distance running, while inspiring a love for running and being active. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques are all covered in this unique program. Participants will put it all together for one fun-filled day at the end of the week at the Skyhawks track meet!What to bring: Plenty of water and a snack. Players will be grouped with similar ages to focus on developing skills to introduce them to the game or elevate their skill set. Beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate players are all welcomed to this fun-filled, skills based clinic.  Required equipment: field hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard and water bottle. Summer Clinic: Monday-Thursday Program (No session 7/3) Coach BioMargaret Bristol is entering her 13th year as the head field hockey coach at Canton High School where she has lead the team to 3 consecutive seasons (2021, 2022 & 2023) as conference champions and the 2023 State Championship Finals (runner-up). She previously coached at Irving A Robbins Middle School and Canton Middle School.  She also coaches the USA Field Hockey NEXUS Program and was recently named 2019 and 2022 Class S Coach of the Year.

She previously coached at Irving A Robbins Middle School and Canton Middle School.  She also coaches the USA Field Hockey NEXUS Program and was recently named 2019 and 2022 Class S Coach of the Year.
