What To Look Forward To!
In this imaginative visual art camp, students will explore the beauty of insects and nature through both sculpture and painting. Participants will design and construct a sculptural bug or butterfly by constructing a form out of cardboard and foil and adding color and texture by layering fabric, ribbon and other decorative materials. In addition to their 3D work, students will create a small acrylic painting inspired by their chosen subject, focusing on color mixing, composition and detail. This combination of sculptural and painting processes encourages students to observe their subject from multiple perspectives while developing both fine motor skills and creative expression. By the end of the camp, each student will have a unique fabric sculpture and a complementary acrylic painting that together celebrate the intricate patterns and vibrant colors found in the natural world!
