Skyhawks: Basketball Clinic 
Grades K/1 
Registration starts August 12, 2024.

This recreation basketball clinic offers children grades K-1 to get their first experience with basketball. This program is introductory in nature where participants will learn the game of basketball through engaging drills and small-sided games. Our coaches will focus on developing the basics and fostering a love of the game.

Using our progression-based curriculum, we focus on the whole player - teaching sportsmanship and teamwork. Participants will learn the fundamentals of passing, shooting, ball handling, rebounding and defense through skill-based instruction and small-sided scrimmages.

Spots are limited, register today! 

Program details: 
- Equipment: Basketballs will be provided. Players should bring their water and wear comfortable clothes and sneakers. 
- The 3:40-4:25pm session: Children will be dismissed from their classrooms to the gym afterschool. Parents coming early are asked to remain outside the gym until pick up time.
- The 4:30-5:15 pm session: Parents/guardians will drop their child off at the clinic with the instructor, but will need to remain outside of the gym area once the clinic has started.

Public Act No. 21-64: Pursuant to the Governor's Task Force on Justice for Abused Children in CT (GTF) all operators of youth sport activities must distribute the child sexual abuse guidelines to each parent or guardian upon registration. All three documents can be found here: https://portal.ct.gov/DCF/GTF-CJA/HB-6113 (scroll to the bottom of the portal's page).
Schedule: Schedule is based upon gym availability and is subject to change. Parents/guardians will be notified of any changes as soon as possible.
